Air conditioning installation in Romford & Essex

Wall-mounted split-system air conditioning for homes across Havering and East London — cool in summer, cheap heat in winter, fitted neatly with the pipework kept discreet.

A heat pump on the wall, not just a fan

Most people think of air conditioning as a summer purchase. Modern units are heat pumps, which means they run in reverse in winter — moving warmth into the room rather than generating it — and deliver several times more heat per pound than an electric heater.

That changes the maths. A unit fitted for a hot bedroom in July is also the cheapest way to warm a loft conversion, garden room or home office in January, without extending the central heating.

What we do

What the job involves

Sized for the room

The commonest mistake is a unit too small for the space, which then runs flat out and never quite gets there. We measure the room, take account of glazing and aspect, and size the unit to match.

Heating as well as cooling

Every system we fit is a heat pump, so it works year round. Ask us to show you the running cost per hour in heating mode — for most rooms it surprises people.

Filtered, quiet running

Built-in filters catch dust and pollen, which matters if anyone in the house suffers with hay fever. Indoor units run quietly enough to sleep beside.

Neat, discreet installation

Core drilled cleanly, pipework in trunking routed along sensible lines, outdoor unit sited where it will not annoy you or the neighbours, and walls made good afterwards.

Rooms we fit most

Bedrooms, living rooms, loft conversions, home offices, conservatories and garden rooms — anywhere that overheats in summer or is expensive to warm in winter.

Servicing & aftercare

Filters and coils need cleaning to keep efficiency up. We will tell you what you can do yourself and what is worth having looked at.

Step by step

From survey to first cold air

  1. 1

    Free home survey

We look at the room, where the indoor unit can sensibly go, and where the outdoor unit can be sited with a workable pipe run. You get a fixed written price.

  2. 2

    Unit selection

We recommend a size and model to suit the room and your budget, and explain the difference in running cost between options. Fit-only is fine if you have already bought a unit.

  3. 3

    Installation

Most single-room installations are completed in a day. Floors and furniture protected, core drilling done cleanly, and everything tidied before we leave.

  4. 4

    Commissioning & handover

System charged, tested in both heating and cooling, and then we sit down and show you how to actually use the controller — including the settings that keep running costs down.

Good to know

Air conditioning — your questions

Anything else, just ask. Straight answers, no sales script.

Does air conditioning heat as well as cool?

Yes. The systems we fit are heat pumps, so they run in reverse in winter and warm the room. For a lot of rooms that is cheaper to run than an electric heater and quicker than waiting on the central heating.

How long does an installation take?

A single wall-mounted unit is usually a one-day job. More units, longer pipe runs or awkward access can take a second day — we will tell you which at survey rather than on the morning.

Do I need planning permission?

In most cases a domestic wall-mounted unit falls under permitted development, but it depends on your property — flats, listed buildings and conservation areas have extra rules, and there are limits on siting and noise. If we think you need to check with the council, we will say so before you order anything.

Is it noisy for me or my neighbours?

Indoor units are quiet enough for a bedroom. The outdoor unit makes some noise, which is why siting matters — we position it with your neighbours in mind, and we will tell you honestly if the only workable position is a poor one.

How much does it cost to run?

It depends on the unit, the room and how you use it, so we will not quote a figure blind. At survey we can show you the rated input for the unit we are proposing, which lets you work out a realistic hourly cost at your own electricity rate.
